开云体育官方网站下载安装 TasWater is responsible for approving any relevant water and sewerage infrastructure related aspects of planning, building and plumbing applications in Tasmania.

TasWater provides a number of services to customers including assistance with planning, building, plumbing, water and sewerage related works, trade waste and information requests.

Development process

  • icon-dial-phoneSTEP 1 Check “Dial before you dig” before taking any action.
  • icon-plus-stepSTEP 2 Check if you need a council planning permit and then lodge a Development Application (DA) with your council. Council will refer your application to TasWater
  • icon-application-sharedSTEP 3 Your Development Application (DA) is shared with TasWater via Council to commence Water or Sewer service enquires.
  • icon-house-approvedSTEP 4 Certificate for Certifiable Work (CCW) when you send your Building approval or construction plans to TW for approvals.  Building or plumbing work requires a CCW for any work that impacts on TasWater. You should also discuss with your building surveyor or designer if you need TasWater approvals.
  • icon-plus-stepSTEP 5 Connections to TasWater infrastructure - In the course of development, a new connection, upgrade or removal of a connection may be required to TasWater’s infrastructure.
  • icon-application-sharedSTEP 6 Once approved, you’ll receive your Certificate of water and sewerage compliance (building) and/or (plumbing).

Development Application (DA) Information

When any development application is made to council, requesting a planning permit, the application is referred to TasWater in accordance with the Water and Sewerage Industry Act 2008. The developer is required to submit a Concept Servicing Plan showing how the development will be served by water and sewerage hydraulic services.

The Building Act 2016 takes a risk-based approach to building approval. In conjunction with the Building Act 2016 we have developed a new Guideline for Certificates for Certifiable Work (CCWs) which will assist streamlining TasWater’s role in the new approvals framework. This also includes information relating to compliance.
