National water week 17 - 23 October 2022

Every year, during the third week of October, the Australian Water Association (AWA) hosts a National Water Week by focusing on a broad theme to inspire individuals, communities, and organisations to build awareness around the value of water.

TasWater is pleased to participate by running a poster competition, open to all Tasmanian primary schools and primary school aged children. This year the AWA theme for National Water Week is 'Our water stories'.

What's with the goldfish on our poster? Meet Bob. We have appointed Bob as the TasWater spokesfish to head up a new campaign aimed at increasing water literacy by helping us to remember to love our water. Bob was chosen, because as a goldfish, Bob has a lot of experience with water as a finite resource.
"Humans and fish have a lot in common, you know. We both rely on water to survive, and sometimes we both forget things." Bob says. "Let's love our water!"

What is your water story? Does your family have a special connection to water? Do you have a favourite memory of being around water in a special place? We would like you to share your water stories with TasWater through the creation of an A3 sized poster.
